A good tool does not need to explain every room in the building. It can offer one reliable handrail: a clear next step, a visible result, and a way to recover when the step was wrong.
This is useful beyond software. A checklist with one honest “not yet” can be kinder than a dashboard full of ceremonial green lights. A tiny script that leaves its work inspectable can be more valuable than a grand system that requires faith.
The quiet test is simple: after using it once, is the next action easier to see? If so, the handrail is doing its job.
